Founders' note

Why not just vibe-code it?

The InboxVox team

To: You

Hi there 👋

You can absolutely vibe-code an email connector yourself. That’s exactly how we started. We needed one to connect over 200 mailboxes across our retail business.

Along the way, we discovered a lot more email quirks and edge cases than we’d expected. Keeping attachments intact, handling broken encodings, backfilling historical email, handling timestamps that clients and servers never quite agree on - a long list of problems you don’t even know exist until you start building this yourself. We kept working through them, and that project became InboxVox.

So before you spend your tokens solving the same problems, give ours a spin. Connect a mailbox, get your first JSON payload, and see if it does what you need.

You can always build your own later. For now, let our debugging adventures give your project a head start.

Happy building!

How it works

Set up in 5 minutes

No forwarding rules. No MX changes. No per-user setup required

1

Connect a mailbox

Enter the mailbox's IMAP server address, username, and password. Connect each mailbox separately

2

Set your webhook URL

Tell us where to POST. It can be your backend, an n8n Webhook node, a Make custom webhook, or another workflow tool

3

Choose how far back to sync

Start with new emails or sync past messages from a date you choose

4

Receive structured webhook payloads

Incoming and sent messages arrive at your webhook URL as structured JSON, ready for your database, internal tools, or automations

5

Add optional AI processing

Extract key details, classify emails, and generate summaries using your own AI provider API key. Use your own prompts to tailor the results to your workflow

Email integration

Connect email to the systems you already use

Use structured data from incoming and sent email across CRM, automation, databases, backend systems, and AI - without changing your existing email flow

AI processing

Extract data from emails with AI

Tell InboxVox what to look for. Use a custom prompt to classify messages for sorting or extract detailed structured information, such as contacts, customer complaints, products, and more

Example prompt

Classify this email and extract the property address, preferred viewing time, and requested next step. Keep the time as written and return JSON. Use null for missing details

Incoming email

AI-extracted fields

ai-extraction.json
{
  "category": "apartment_viewing_request",
  "property_address": "14 Maple Street",
  "preferred_time_text": "Saturday at 11:00",
  "requested_next_step": "Confirm if Saturday at 11:00 is available"
}

Pass these fields to n8n, Make, or your backend to log the viewing request and create a task to confirm the appointment. Bring your own AI key

Pricing

1 webhook delivery = 1 credit

Why InboxVox

Email data without changing your email flow

InboxVox sends a copy of incoming and sent email data to your endpoint. Original messages stay in the mailbox - no forwarding rules or BCC workarounds

No forwarding rules to manage

Most tools rely on forwarding copies of emails to a dedicated parsing address. Each mailbox owner or admin has to set up those rules separately

With InboxVox

Connect directly to the source mailboxes and manage connections in one place. No forwarding rules for mailbox users to configure or maintain

Incoming and sent email in one flow

Many setups only capture incoming email, or require a separate copy/BCC workflow to track sent messages. That adds extra steps and leaves gaps in the full conversation

With InboxVox

InboxVox sends copies of both incoming and sent email data to your endpoint automatically. Users keep sending and receiving email as usual

Hosted for you. Pay only for successful deliveries

Many alternatives charge per mailbox, require a subscription or annual contract, or make you run the connector yourself

With InboxVox

We host and maintain the connector for you. There are no per-mailbox fees or annual commitments - you pay only for successful webhook deliveries

FAQ

A few things you may want to know

Mailbox setup, email delivery, credits, and AI - the essentials before you get started

Yes. InboxVox can parse incoming and sent email from existing mailboxes into structured JSON and optionally extract specific fields with AI. Unlike forwarding-based email parsers, it connects directly to the mailbox, so you don’t need a separate parser inbox or forwarding rules

Yes. InboxVox can deliver data from incoming messages and emails in the Sent folder, so your workflows can use both sides of the conversation

No. Your original emails stay in their mailboxes, remain unchanged, and keep their existing read/unread status. InboxVox creates a copy of the email data and delivers it to your endpoint as structured JSON

How credits work

InboxVox uses prepaid credits. There is no subscription, and purchased credits never expire

1 webhook delivery = 1 credit

One credit is used for each email payload successfully delivered to your endpoint

1,000 free credits for new accounts

Every new account receives 1,000 free credits once at signup. This is a one-time credit grant and does not renew

Pay only for successful delivery

A credit is charged only after the email payload has been successfully delivered to your endpoint. Failed deliveries do not use credits

Retries are free

If a delivery attempt fails, InboxVox can retry it without using additional credits. The same email is never charged twice because of retries

Minimum paid purchase: 5,000 credits

After the free credits are used, the minimum paid purchase is 5,000 credits. The more credits you buy, the lower the price per credit

Credit purchases are final

Purchased credits are non-refundable. Credits are prepaid and never expire, so they can be used at any time after purchase. New accounts receive 1,000 free credits at signup to test InboxVox before buying

AI usage is separate

AI processing is not included in the price of InboxVox credits. When you enable AI features, InboxVox uses your own AI provider API key. AI usage is billed directly by your AI provider

Credits never expire

Purchased credits are not tied to a billing period. Buy them once and use them whenever you need them. No subscription. No monthly reset
